TCTC is a member of NJCAA Region X, the Carolinas Junior College Conference.
The men’s soccer team traveled to Anderson, SC to take part in the United Way’s “Day of Action”. The Hawks Soccer team participated in building a home with Habitat for Humanity. The project was a great way to further instill team values, but most importantly, it gave something back to the community.
The Hawks are ready to start their run to the National Championship. The quest will begin on August 23rd when the 2010 Hawks golf team members report to the first day of classes. Coach Wright feels that this Hawks team has a great blend of returning players as well as the best incoming freshmen class in Hawks golf history. Returning district team members Thomas Whiting, Skyler Blair, and Mike Kerns, along with other returning players Braam Botha, Zach Satterfield, Stefan Grochowski and Mike Bourn will give the team great leadership.
Under first year head coach, Ed Heberling, the TCTC Hawks come into the 2010 season with a completely new look and mentality. After a successful run to the 2008 Region X Championship game, the team struggled during the 2009 season. Since starting in May, Coach Heberling has pursued and successfully recruited numerous new players to the squad to give some much needed depth to the program.
This season the roster will start with over 30 players, including four returning from the previous season. Coach Heberling will depend upon the experience and leadership skills of returners Chris Stauffer, Thomas Forman, Austin White, and Nathan Collins to mentor TCTC Hawks new players and provide them with a better understanding of the Region X Competition.
